On the way to Ooty via Mudumalai Forest
It was undoubtedly a memorable journey from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu and Ooty, at an altitude of 10,000 feet above the ground. Mudumalai Forest is probably one of the best examples of vegetation I have seen after Langkawi, Malaysia. I was so excited that I recorded a few videos for hours, except for occasional seizures, until I reached Ooty. The lush greenery during the rainy season soothed our eyes, and the rambling of various animals along the road or in the forest near it made my children crazy; we all talked and shouted like children out of excitement.
The following video shows the breathtaking greenery of Mudumalai Forest for the last half hour before ascending to Ooty. Watch it very closely, though most of the video was recorded through the front window panes of the car.
Ooty, nestled in Tamil Nadu, India, and situated at an altitude of 9000 to 10000 feet above sea level, is probably one of the finest hill stations and tourist destinations of South India. The five major tourist destinations are as follows: Ooty Botanical Garden, Ooty Rose Garden, Ooty Lake, Nilgiri Hill Forest Track, and a unique, organic chocolate factory. Though we did not have enough time to cover the aforementioned five spots, it would have been a pleasant experience, no doubt, if we had managed enough time to enjoy a boat ride on Ooty Lake, situated between a wide range of mountains adorned with breathtaking greenery.

Our stay at FabHotel Khems Ooty
I can still remember that evening when we entered two comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms at FabHotel Khems, Ooty, situated at Shoreham Palace Road, Ooty. We ordered evening snacks and tea and, later, dinner via room service. The quality of food was fresh and satisfactory. We rejoiced before falling into a deep sleep at almost 10,000 feet above sea level, though after many days, I came to know that my wife could not sleep soundly, fearing the risky descent from such a height.
